Andrew is based in Toronto, where he is responsible for Fidelity’s business and investment management activities in Canada as President and Head of Canada. Fidelity Canada brings together three Canadian-focused and based businesses, Fidelity Investments Canada (FIC), Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC), and the Canadian investment team, under a unified organisational structure dedicated to the Canadian marketplace. Fidelity Canada is a joint-venture owned by FIL Limited and an affiliate of Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMR)*.
In May of 2024, Andrew was appointed Interim Co-Chief Investment Officer and will oversee Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Private Assets to ensure continuity and stability on an interim basis while a process for succession is worked through.
Prior to moving to Canada at the start of 2016, Andrew was Global Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Fixed Income from 2007, responsible for developing the fixed income investment process, team and structure. In 2010, he also took on responsibility for Fidelity Solutions following the increased link between this and the fixed income business. Andrew joined Fidelity’s Global Operating Committee in November 2010. In 2011, he assumed responsibility for the Real Estate Investment Team.
Andrew joined Fidelity in 1996 as a money funds trader and soon became the Institutional Cash Fund Portfolio Manager. He transferred to the Hong Kong office in 2002, originally working as portfolio manager running a wide spectrum of fixed income funds including cash, single currency, global, emerging market and high yield bonds. He became CIO, Asian Fixed Income in 2005.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Andrew worked as an assistant treasurer for a major UK pension fund. He started his career within the treasury department at a major US oil company.
